Many young researchers feel insecure about how well their skillset and experiences translate into the big world of corporate business. Let us collectively minimize this fear with people who know better! Lise Lørup and Øyvind Berle both hold Ph.D. degrees and work for the international consulting firm "Boston Consulting Group" (BCG). In this workshop, they will give us an insight into management consulting, where they focus on turning management challenges into meaningful and sustainable actions. In addition, they will also teach us what we can do to optimally present ourselves to receive that bit of extra attention from potential employers that can make the difference.
Speakers
Lise Lørup:
Lise Lørup is a Project Leader at the BCG Oslo office. Lise completed a PhD in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Oxford, where she focused on developing digital health solutions for improved management of patients, together with predictive models for early detection of patient deterioration. In addition, she has a master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Imperial College London. She works primarily in the Healthcare sector and has experience from the medtech industry.
Øyvind Berle:
Øyvind Berle is a Project Leader at the BCG Oslo office. Øyvind holds a PhD from Department of Marine Technology at NTNU and an MSc in Industrial Economics and Technology Management, and was a visiting researcher and a Fulbright fellow at Massachusetts Institute of Technology for his PhD. He has five years of experience in Shipping equities research. In BCG, Øyvind has mainly focused on marine transportation services, aquaculture and commodity trading. Prior to BCG, he worked for DNB Markets as a Senior Research Analyst.
