PhD and Postdoc Breakfast Club: Fake Science

In the February edition of the PhD & Post-Doc Breakfast Club, we welcome Ivana Malovic to discuss Fake Science; namely how we can recognize it and what to do about it.

Fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, ghost authourship, inappropriate authourship, predatory journals… did you know there were so many types of fraudulent behaviours and questionable research practices? In fact, these are just a few of them! But how can we recognize them, and what can we do once we know? February's edition of the Breakfast Club aims to help you answer these questions.

Ivana Malovic holds a PhD in medical biology and is a senior academic librarian at the Library of Medicine and Science, UiO. Her work interests include Open Science, questionable research practices, literature search techniques and the critical appraisal of articles, which she teaches to students and employees at UiO and Oslo University Hospital.

As an added bonus, we will be once again putting the "breakfast" in Breakfast Club - with a free breakfast of warm and cold drinks and sandwiches being served for all registered attendees from 8:30am!

Registration is open to all PhDs and Post-Docs. We look forward to seeing you there for what is sure to be a great talk, and a great chance for some socialising after another bought of lockdowns!
