Possible strike at UiO

LO Stat has announced that over 4000 members will be called out in case of a possible strike. About 270 members from NTL UiO are among those who will strike if the parties do not reach an agreement by the mediation deadline at midnight on Friday, May 24th.

This year's wage negotiations are now in mediation with the National Mediator. The deadline for mediation is midnight on Friday, May 24th, and LO Stat has now issued a strike notice.

In the event of a strike, approximately 270 NTL members at UiO will be called out on strike. Those called out will be distributed among the Central Administration, Eiendomsavdelingen, IT Nedre Blindern, the Faculty of Social Sciences, and the Faculty of Humanities.

LO Stat is negotiating on our behalf with the Ministry of Digitalisation and Public Governance (DFD). The negotiations in the state wage settlement began on April 22nd, with a deadlock on April 30th when the parties were far apart. In May, discussions began with the National Mediator, and the deadline for reaching an agreement and preventing conflict in the state is at midnight on May 24th.

There are three possible outcomes:

  1. An agreement is reached before the mediation deadline, and there is no strike.

  2. Mediation goes into overtime. Then all members go to work as usual and await notice of whether there will be a strike or not.

  3. There is a strike at UiO. The strike begins at 06.00 on Friday, May 24th.
