Salary and salary negotiations

Salary and salary negotiations

Everyone should have a livable wage and be guaranteed salary growth over time. NTL works towards reducing disparities, ensuring equal pay, and achieving real salary growth. This is best ensured through centralized salary formation, where the unions negotiate with the state on behalf of all state workers, and with the salary additions given in kroners rather than percentages. Through centralized negotiations, we ensure that all members experience wage development!

It is also possible to have your salary adjusted through various local negotiations at UiO:

  • In the yearly centralized wage negotiations, the parties can allocate funds for to the local work place level. In which case we have local negotiations at UiO, called 2.5.1-negotiations, starting around June.
  • If you have taken on new tasks with more responsibility, salary can be negotiated on special grounds. The same applies to efforts to retain emloyees or extraordinary efforts by the employee.
  • Salary is also negotiated upon contract signing, both when you are new at UiO or when you get a new work contract. A salary review should also be conducted within one year in your position.

If these situations pertain to you or if you have questions about wages in general, you are welcome to contact your union representative.
