Local negotiations (2.5.1)

In this year's central negotiations, the entire sum was delegated to the work place level for local salary negotiations. Here you will find the information you need about the salary negotiations at UiO!

Claims can be submitted by the union and/or the employer. If you want NTL to present salary claims on your behalf during the negotiations, you must submit a claim to us.

We are holding a members' meeting about local wage negotiations Wednesday, August 12 at 13:00 (seminar room 231 at Helga Engs house).

The deadline for submitting claims is 17th of August 2026. You can claim changes in salary and/or position code.

Please contact your local representatives if you have any questions or are unsure about whether to submit a claim.

Tips for formulating your claim

  • Familiarize yourself with UiO's local salary policy – here you can find good arguments for why you should be prioritized.
  • How are you positioned in terms of salary compared to others with whom comparisons are appropriate? Compare yourself with colleagues who perform comparable tasks and who have approximately the same length of work experience. You can ask your local representatives about what colleagues earn.
  • Whats your salary development over the last five years? If your wage has not been evaluated in the last five years, a special assessment must be made in the local negotiations.

It is important that you provide your job code, job title, salary step, length of service, and other relevant information so that those negotiating on your behalf have accurate information.

Remember to include when you last received a salary increase! If you're unsure, you can ask the HR consultant in your unit/faculty.

Claims can be submitted by both the union and the employer. Ask your employer about their deadline and claim process!

NTL does not forward the entire claim to the employer as it is written by you (only what specifically is requested in terms of change in salary). However, the claim will be used in our prioritization work and in the event of further processing during negotiations.
