About NTL UiO

NTL's work is based on the labor movement's principles of freedom, equality, solidarity and a democratic society.

Salary and working conditions

As a trade union, our main task is to work to improve all employees' pay and working conditions.

NTL works for:

  • a coordinated wage formation with central supplements
  • that work tasks and responsibilities should be the starting point for salary
  • that the difference between the highest and lowest wages must be reduced
  • equal pay

Education and research are the basis for the development of democracy and welfare. Free research and the right to education are therefore a fundamental democratic principle.

NTL works for:

  • strengthened basic funding
  • financing that is independent of competition or business priorities
  • reduction of temporary work and more permanent positions
  • democratic governance of the university
  • free education for everyone – including international students

Climate and environment

We want sustainable development where consideration for the environment and fair distribution between poor and rich countries sets the framework for economic growth and consumption.

NTL works for:

  • climate-friendly solutions in all public tenders
  • that the public sector must be a driver for the development and use of new and environmentally friendly technology in construction and production
  • that no new oil and gas fields are opened on the Norwegian continental shelf
