Information regarding strike at UiO

As you have seen in the media, Akademikerne and Unio have gone on strike.

Akademikerne have not called any members in units subordinate to the Ministry of Education on strike. In other words, members of unions within Akademikerne at the University of Oslo are not on strike.

Unio have called members of the UiO Forskerforbundet on strike from Monday 27 May. This means that the University of Oslo is on strike.

Important to remember for the individual employee:

Employees who have not been called out on strike must work as normal. Employees who have not been called out on strike must initially only perform the work tasks that normally belong to their position. It is strikebreaking when those who are not on strike carry out work that those who have been called out on strike would otherwise do. More tasks must not be imposed on non-strikers, as can be done in the event of illness, holidays or other absence.

If the strike escalates, affected members will receive an email from their union. Such notice is given no later than 4 days before, with information about the first day of the strike and who is the local strike leader.

If you have any questions, contact akademikerne-kontoret@uio.no.
