We welcome all PhDs and postdocs at the University of Oslo to attend the meeting to learn more about UiODoc’s work, have your say about our agenda, bring up anything for discussion, to get involved with our activities or simply to enjoy your afternoon with colleagues and good food.
In the April edition of PPBC, we invite Koyote Millar to share some skills and insights into the art of feedback: namely, how to provide constructive feedback in an effective manner, and how to accept and work with feedback that arises during the research process.

10 October is World Mental Health Day! Its objective is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and mobilize efforts in support of it. UiODoc would like to take this opportunity to provide a talk in regards to mental health for PhD and postdocs at UiO. Therefore, we invited Ingvild Mageli, a PhD in economics to give a talk about PhD struggles called “especially independent” which dives into psychosocial well-being aspects.
Imposter syndrome probably affects most of us, and can seriously affect our mental health, confidence, and happiness. This talk by Hugo de Boer aims to analyse and relativise imposter syndrome, as well as provide insights to mitigate its effects.

From July 14 to July 15 the Eurodoc Conference 2021 will take place with the theme "Improving Doctoral Training in Europe".
The Conference will be followed by the AGM on July 16-17.
Happy June folks! For this month's PhD & PostDoc's Breakfast Club, we have Katharina Vestre as our speaker where she will be sharing her experience in the field of science communication.
We may hate it or love it, but applying for grants is a major part of life in present-day academia. Grant proposal writing is therefore a life-saving skill - and for that reason we have invited UiO researcher Folmer Bokma to give us a talk on how to write excellent grant proposals.
The Pint of Science festival aims to deliver interesting and relevant talks on the latest science research in an accessible format to the public – mainly across bars, pubs, cafes, and other public places. The Pint of Science provides a platform to enable discussions on research between scientist and the Norwegian community without requiring previous knowledge. Pint of Science is a non-profit organization, run by volunteers and was established by a community of postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers in 2012. The main festival takes places over three days in May simultaneously in pubs across the world.
