The Norwegian Musicological Society is an organisation for music researchers in Norway. The society reaches out to a broad academic community and organises conferences and meetings, and also represents Norway in the regular music research congresses involving the Nordic countries.

The Norwegian Musicological Society publishes the peer-reviewed journal Studia Musicologica Norvegica. The journal is the public face of the society and contains articles of an academic character on music, ranging from music history to ethnomusicology, work analysis and theory, as well as book reviews and essays. Studia Musicologica Norvegica is read by music researchers and students, lecturers, music teachers and music enthusiasts in general. The journal is published by Universitetsforlaget in collaboration with the Norwegian Musicological Society and is supported by Norwegian Research Council.
