"Let me sell you my dream": Multicultural realities/histories of the American West - Historical Quarter with Stefan "Steve" Rabitsch

"A quintessentially American geo-cultural place, the Trans-Mississippi West is a region which has been excessively mapped, regularly misunderstood, often maligned, contemptuously ignored, grossly simplified, ostentatiously caricatured, triumphantly glorified, and-as perplexing as it may be-(re)imagined in any combination thereof. Consequently, it deserves much more attention and indeed scrutiny.

Chiefly informed by New/Post-West and Global West schools of thought, this talk is geared toward (re)centering attention on the American West along hemispheric, historical, transnational, multicultural, gender-diverse, and intersectional lines."

Associate Professor and magnificent hat connoisseur Stefan "Steve" Rabitsch holds 23. April's Historical Quarter about the American West. The lecture will be held in English. We hope to see many international students show up to listen to Steve, as it tells us that there is an interest in English lectures as well.

The lecture will take place in Sophus Bugges hus, Auditorium 3, from 09:00–10:00. Free waffles and coffee as always.

Please mark yourself as interested on the event page on our Facebook page so we can prepare accordingly.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.

Hope to see you there!
