The summer activities day is an annual event, organised by UiOBIL, and offered to all employees of UiO.
Participation on the day must be approved by the nearest supervisor.
NOTE! The UiO activities days are always on Thursdays, weeks 7 and 24.

Bike ride from Stryken
Participants and their bikes are brought to Stryken by bus. From there many routes lead back to Oslo. UiOBIL members will be present as guides.
Please wear a helmet!

The Bergerlinna rail trail and the Eidsvoll Building
We will take the train to Dal and continue along the disused rail trail "Bergerlinna" to Hurdalsjøen lake where we will have a short break. The last part goes along a disused road to the Eidsvoll building close to Andelva river. Lunch will be served at Kafé Standpunkt in the Eidsvoll building before a guided tour in the historic Rikssalen where the Constitution of Norway was signed.
The Berger Line was a six-kilometre horse railway which opened in 1854 along with the Trunk Line – Norway´s first railway. The corridor is today a rail trail which goes through a forest with gravel surface.
The trip is 12 kilometres long plus 1.5 kilometres from the Eidsvoll building to Eidsvoll Verk station. The total walking time is about three hours. Most of the route has a solid gravel surface, but the first 1.5 kilometres will be on asphalt as well as the last four kilometres to the Eidsvoll building.
Estimated arrival in Oslo: 4pm. Train tickets both ways must be purchased in advance (via VY/Ruter/Entur).

Guided tour of the Botanical Garden
The Botanical Garden (est. 1814) is the oldest botanical garden in the country (map) and is a part of the Natural History Museum. It holds over 5000 plant species in both greenhouses and outdoor gardens.
The tour takes about an hour and covers most of the garden, its history, layout and particular plants. The guided tour is free of charge.
Any table booking at the privately owned Café in the garden is done directly (Tue-Sun, 10-16 AM).
Meet-up: In front of the Botanical Museum (Lids House) at 13.00 AM. (All tours starts at the same time.)
Number of participants: 80 in total, in four groups of at the most 20 in each. Early bird gets the worm!
Høyt og Lavt climbing park at Tryvann
The courses consist of various obstacles, nets, swing bridges, tunnels, ladders, balance and rope elements etc. on cables between tall posts and trees.
You'll get mandatory safety instructions, a harness and a helmet.
