This cultural trail passes the waterfall Sarpsfossen and Domberg where the Norwegian King Olav landed when he formed Berg in 1016 – Sarpsborg's former name. The rail trail ends near Tomta, Roald Amundsen's birthplace where we will have lunch and be guided around.
We will take the morning train from Oslo Central Station to Sarpsborg at 8.52. Then we will continue by foot at 10.30 towards Sarpsfossen and follow the rail trail along River Glomma to the birthplace. This is a seven-kilometre walk in almost flat terrain. Lunch is served at 12.30. At 2 pm we will return back to Oslo by private bus which arrives Blindern around 3.30 pm.
