Collegial outdoor activity for all employees
The winter activities day is an annual event, organized by UiOBIL, and offered to all employees of UiO.
Participation on the day must be registered and approved by the nearest supervisor.

Cross-country skiing from Stryken Sørkedalen back to Oslo
Buses from Blindern to Stryken Elveli
Departure at 9 o'clock from outside Helga Engs hus (Sem Sælands vei 7)

Deadline for registering: January 30th
Because the planned ski trail is not prepared at this time, the buses will instead drive to Elveli in Sørkedalen.
From there we will take the ski trail up to Kikut.
From Kikut and back to Oslo we follow the regular ski trail.
The distance is about 30 km, it starts with a climb but after that the terrain is undulating back to Oslo. We serve hot beverages at Stålmyra about 5 km up from Stryken. Consider your skiing skills. See also track info at ut.no ie. for the climb ratio.You can also stop at Kikutstua where they serve drinks and food.
Railway walk by Erlend Garåsen
We will hike along a disused part of the Østfold Line from Ski to Holstad station and further to Ås through the Askjum forest, an eight-kilometre rail trail. The trail passes the Østensjøvann nature reserve and a couple of cultural memories. We will have lunch at Ås station, and Olav Haugdahl will hold a speech about Ås and the Smaalen Line, the original name of the Østfold Line We will return back to Oslo by train around 1 pm.

Toboggan run down Korketrekkeren
We offer free rental of sledge and helmet for those who want to do the toboggan run down Korketrekkeren, show your employee card at Frognerseteren Friluftssenter located at Holmenkollveien 198.
It's also possible to rent winter clothes, but you have to pay for that yourself.
You have to register for this activity.
Please note: Korketrekkeren is only open if there is enough snow, we will notify the participants by mail if it is closed on February 12th.

Suggestions for other activities:
If you want to go skiing in a smaller group or by yourself, take a walk or go for a run, remember to clear this with your leader. And please fill in the registration form as well.

Gala dinner at Soria Moria Hotel
You will be served a 3 course dinner with drinks and coffee for the dessert included. Fee: NOK 600,-
Dinner is served at 18 o'clock.
Last date for registration: 30/1 2026, binding (no refund).
Prices will be awarded in different categories.
It will be possible to use showers and sauna in the hotel.
How to get there: Metro to Voksenkollen station and then a 10-15 min walk. Or bus 48 which stops right outside the hotel.
