Pitch your Research

UiO:Doc has, in cooperation with the ATTR Research School, the privilege to invite all PhD students and postdocs at the University to an interactive course with the actress and presentation skills trainer, Torunn Meyer.

PROGRAM

15.30 – Presentation techniques for effective communication

 - How to use your body language, voice and present your content in a convincing manner.

 - Use of tools and techniques to boost the impact of your presentation.

17.30 – 18.00 Food break

18.00 – 1900 Communication Training

 - Group work with the aim to improve presentation skills using presented techniques and tools. Participants are for this invited to prepare a 3-minute presentation ready to work on in the groups. It will give you the most out of the course but you are of course welcome anyway. The presentation can be on a topic that you have already done or are supposed to do in the future. It will make the training as relevant as possible for you.

Please sign up for the course as soon as possible in order for us to secure enough food.

The interactive course is given during the ATTR (Authoritative Texts and Their Reception) Research School, which offers PhD students in the Humanities, Law, and Theology high-level reflection on theories and research methods related to textual scholarship, as well as interdisciplinary feedback on their ongoing dissertation work. However, the course is open for all PhD students and postdocs at the University.

Torunn has over 12 years experience as a presentation skills trainer and the course will offer you several tools to make use of in your future presentations. Please visit Torunn's website for more information and for references.

We also encourage PhD students, from the Humanities, Law and Theology, who are interested in participating in ATTR's interdisciplinary research school to apply by 14 May, 2018.
