University of Oslo company sports team

UiOBIL at the University of Oslo was founded on November 10th in 1970. We have approximately 500 members and offer a broad range of activities, with members participating at all levels. In addition, we take part in organising activities for the whole University.

Activities throughout the year

The UiO Winter Activities Day

This is an annual event open to all personnell at UiO. There are several activities to choose from: Cross-country skiing (long or short trip), hiking or alpine skiing. The day ends with a dinner/party and awards.

The UiO Summer Activities Day

The summer activities day is an annual event, organized by UiO-BIL, and offered to all employees of UiO.

The "Bike to UiO" campaign

All employees are encouraged to bike to work. By registering their activity on the University website, and being a member of UiO-BIL, they are entering in a competition where they can win prices.

Activities during work hours

UiO employees may use 1.5 hours per week for health promoting activities during work hours. We support this and offer a variety of activities. Our offerings vary:

Yoga, spinning, dancesport, ball games, walking/jogging.

Membership

Who can become member of UiO-BIL?

All employees (full- or part-time), master- and PhD- students at the University of Oslo.

The spouse/live-in partner of employees, as long as the spouse/live-in partner is not employed in a company that has its own company sports team with the sport in question.

UiOs senior citizens can continue to be, or become members.

Children of UiO employees, above the age of 16, can become members as long as the sport in question is not offered at their work place/place of study.

Others can become members as long as their work place/place of study doesn’t offer a company sports team with the sport in question.

Membership costs NOK 300,- annually from 2012.

UiO employees can choose to have the membership fee deducted from their salary. This option is selected when signing up for a membership.

If you do not wish to have the fee deducted from your salary, the fee can be transferred to the following bank account: 0540.06.50448, Postboks 1072 Blindern, 0316 Oslo.

Fill in the registration form for UiO-BIL. After answering this form you’ll see a confirmation page.

Membership benefits

In connection with sports arrangements, you can use the sports association's discount agreements with various hotels, car rentals, boats and the SAS airline.

There is an insurance agreement included in the membership (team sports).

UiO-BIL sells track suits with the company sports team logo and print.

UiO-BIL has discount agreements with, among others, Oslo Sportslager. You will have to show your UiO employee card to use these agreements.
